Toothache Relief - Get rid of a Toothache
How lucky are those who never suffer from the toothache! I often feel jealous of such fortunate people, whenever I get that irritating pain in my teeth. On sharing my terribly annoying experience with some of the not-so-experienced people, I got many suggestions like get drunk, have rum, have a shot of whisky, chew aspirin, bear the pain, and what not. And in my utter desperation, I tried all of them without consulting the dentist. After testing each and every remedy for toothache, I can confidently suggest, five of the most effective ways to get rid of the toothache:
1) The first and foremost advice is to brush the teeth two times a day with a proper brushing technique regularly. Right brushing technique is a must for healthy teeth. Well! I know that is quite difficult to have a check on our diet and see what suits our teeth, but proper brushing covers up for all that.
2) One of the most effective as well as natural way is, the use of clove and clove oil. Apply the clove oil on the aching tooth. Within a few moments the pain would be gone. I know how it feels when the gum comes in contact with the clove oil, but it is definitely much better than the irritating pain. The oil numbs the teeth and reduces the pain. It is also highly recommended to chew cloves instead of chewing aspirin.
3) Chewing a small piece of garlic every morning is also good for strengthening the affected tooth. Garlic contains allicin, which plays a vital role in stopping the growth of the bacteria that causes toothache.
4) Onion, which acts as bactericidal, after cutting it into small pieces, should be placed on the aching tooth. Now, close the mouth and let the onion do its job as it would prevent the tooth decay. Being an antibiotic, the onion is very effective in getting rid of the toothache. If somebody finds keeping the pieces in the mouth a bit frustrating, then one can just chew some pieces of onion with the affected tooth and spit out after some time. However, do keep in mind the taste of garlic and onion is awful.
5) Rinsing with salt dissolved warm water is also of great use in curing this annoying pain. Repeat the process again and again if the pain persists.
But at the same time, do keep certain precautions like not to take any painkillers on your own or try anything stupid as I used to do before. The above 5 tips worked for me and I am sure that it would definitely help you in getting rid of the toothache, however, if the pain becomes unbearable, then do consult your dentist at regular basis.
