Spotting early pregnancy
Pregnancy is the most important phase in a woman's life as a new life is taking birth inside you. The experience is simply breathtaking and heavenly, but not for all. This is really unfortunate but not every woman is blessed with a healthy pregnancy. The problems in such a situation depends on your body resistance and lifestyle.
Bleeding during pregnancy is not a normal thing and should not be taken so. Whether you feel any other discomfort while spotting or not, its your duty to report to your doctor. Only she will tell you the real reason behind the spotting. For your prior knowledge, here are the underlying causes for spotting in early pregnancy :
1. Embryo implantation you might feel some sort of vaginal spotting as early as 7-9 weeks of pregnancy. This spotting could be due to the implantation of the embryo onto your uterine walls and continues for a day or a two. Some experience a light bleeding in pink, red or brown color while some experience somewhat heavy bleeding. And there is nothing to be worried about, its a minor case, but still your doctor should be aware of that.
2. Sexual Intercourse Sometimes, due to involvement in sexual intercourse, your vaginal may start bleeding. Your doctor may also recommend you to avoid such a sexual activity for some time.
3. Vaginal Infection A vaginal or cervical infection could also be the underlying cause of spotting in early pregnancy. While sometimes, the reason gets undiagnosed resulting into great discomfort later on. So, its better for you to consult your doctor.
4. Ectopic Pregnancy What happens, sometimes, this spotting is the sign of ectopic pregnancy which means a pregnancy gets implanted outside the uterus. In such a situation, the spotting is accompanied with severe lower stomach cramps (worse than the menstruation cramps), Sharp pain in the abdominal area and low levels of HCG.
But such pregnancies are very rare, 1 out of 60 could be ectopic.
5. Miscarriage It is said that almost 20-30% of pregnant women experience this spotting out of which only 15% result in miscarriage. And this occurs somewhere within the first trimester or first 12 weeks. If you notice any alarming sign of miscarriage like
vaginal bleeding cramping pain in the lower stomach you observe some sort of tissue passing through your vagina, then immediately consult your doctor. Do nothing except lying calmly on your left side, if you have your appointment after some time.
There is nothing to worry about after going through this information, its not necessary that if you notice spotting in your early months of pregnancy, then it is something really serious. Sometimes, spotting occurs due to some undiagnosed reasons. Leave on that to your doctor. Thats not your job.
This information is just to make you aware of the situations when you need to consult your doctor immediately. So that you do not ignore such crucial times. I really hope that if you never confront such a situation, and if it happens to you, then there is nothing serious.
Take care and God bless you and your sweet little angel!!!
