Pregnancy is a wonderful time for every woman to feel a new life originating within. But there are some factors other than your inside bodily changes that do not let you to cherish this beautiful phase of your life. You will be advised time by time not to do this, not to do that as this might harm the health of your baby. But you remain cool, listen to all of them but do what your common sense says. And if you still have doubt then do not hesitate to ask your doctor. After all, what are doctors for!

Its not that all these old pregnancy wives tales are wrong, they might be correct but in very few cases. Not in every case, the same problems occur!

Every woman on this earth is different from the other, and so is the pregnancy. Some experience acidity or nausea, while some do not.

Never go after these pregnancy myths, as they will never let you to enjoy this wonderful phase in your life. And to make you aware of all the real facts, here I am going to expose all the pregnancy myths that you will definitely come accross with. So, have a look and have fun!

1. If you experience severe morning sickness, then you are likely to have a baby girl- Nothing has been proved yet, but yes, there is a certain study claiming that women carrying a female fetus have higher HCG levels as compared to those women carrying a male fetus. But still nothing is sure. You just cannot rely on it.

2. The sex of your baby is determined by the position in which you had intercourse and also by the way you are carrying- This is absolutely wrong as the gender of your baby is only determined by the chromosome- X or Y, and not on the position during intercourse.

And another thing, the way you carry your baby has no relation to the gender. How? The mother might be carrying her baby 'high or low' just because the size of the baby being small or large; and not because of the gender.

3. Sleeping on your back will hinder the blood circulation in the body of your baby, so always lie down on your left side- This is correct but cannot be applied to every pregnancy, as it happens only in special cases with high blood pressure, malfunctioning of the kidneys, prolonged labor or any problem with the fetal development.
