If you have an infant at home then you will realize how important it is to know how to change a disposable diaper. Children wear disposable diapers throughout till they have learnt potty training. It is important to ensure that the child does not develop any diaper rashes or infection while wearing the diapers. Researches have shown that disposable diapers should be changed about 7-8 times a day to avoid urinary tract infections. It was found that those who changed their baby’s diapers for about 4-5 times had UTI. Also if you see your child developing any rashes then change the brand of the diaper immediately.

Parents should be very particular while choosing diapers for their child. They can either choose cloth diaper or the disposable diapers. Cloth diaper is pocket friendly as it is cheaper but using it is quite messy as it involves washing and drying. Disposable diapers in this case scores better than the cloth diaper. All that it needs is to throw away after use. Following are the tips on how to change it:

1) Before you start with changing the diaper of your baby make sure that you have all the things you require ready at an arms length so that you won’t have to leave the baby alone while changing the diaper.

2) Find a sturdy surface where you can comfortably lay your child and change the diaper. Lay the baby on the back. And always make sure to lay one hand on the baby. This will make you and the child feel secure.

3) Get ready with the fresh diapers. Now hold the baby by his ankles and slightly raise his bottom. This will let you to gently pull out the used diapers.

4) Before you slide in the fresh diapers, take some baby wipes and wipe off the bottom. When you do so, always wipe away from the front to back. This will help to prevent any sort of infection.

5) Now slide in the fresh diaper underneath the baby. As you do so make sure that the tabs are properly positioned. Half of the diaper should fall on the back while the remaining half should come to the front from between his legs.

6) Fasten the diaper by pulling it over the belly of the baby. But before doing so, apply the any baby lotion or oil to prevent rashes on the skin. Babies often have a very sensitive skin and tend to react to any synthetic products.

Some things that must be kept in mind are that when you are diapering a baby boy, place a clean cloth on top of his penis so that he doesn’t pee all over himself or splash you. While fastening the diaper make sure that you don’t fasten it too tightly. Also never leave your child unattended on the changing table. Changing diaper is time consuming so make the best out of it. This is a time where you can establish special bond with your child so talk to him, play with him and have fun.

Also get to know how to relieve your child's stuffy nose. Stuffy nose in children can cause a lot of breathing problems leading the child to panic and breathe through the mouth. So learn how to handle the situation.
