To keep our spirits high, we need to boost our energy levels every now and then. In trying to meet our daily needs and in an effort to keep pace with the materialistic world that we live in, we are often left with a very low level of energy. All our energies are drained in an attempt to match our pace with time yet time always outruns us. This sometimes may lead to frustrations and depression which would slow down the body’s metabolic activity thereby resulting in fatigue. There are a number of factors that contributes to low energy level. And old age is one of the prime factors.
However, there are a number of things that you can do to get rid of fatigue and boost your energy level to live an active life. You can once again relive your younger years and enjoy the pleasure of living life once again. Following are some of the things that you can do to boost your energy:
1) A good night’s sleep is very essential. After a tiring day, only a thorough good night’s sleep can give you complete relaxation and recharge your body. Always go to bed at the same time everyday as the body requires to program its function efficiently.
2) Drink atleast 6-8 glasses of water everyday to prevent your body from dehydration. Dehydration can lead to low energy level and uneasiness.
3) Mineral deficiency can also lead to low energy level. So include protein, iron, magnesium, complex carb etc. in your diet.
4) Avoid those foods that could trigger fatigue or reduce the metabolic rate of the body. Avoid caffeinated drinks altogether.
5) A regular exercise early in the morning will be helpful in keeping you active the whole day. So it is a must to atleast spend 30 minutes every day for exercise.
6) Try to lose your body weight and control the sugar level of the body. As far as possible, eliminate those foods which you consider might be the cause of low energy. For instance avoid those foods which consist excess fatty acids.
7) Include lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Avoid sugar-rich foods. Whole grains are good energy boosters as it provides slow and steady energy that helps in maintaining a balanced energy level.
Also sitting over your desk may cause sluggishness and make you feel bored. So walk around the office to refresh yourself. Try to spend as much time as possible out in the fresh air to boost your spirit and energy level as well. Relax and pamper your body occasionally with body massage, facial or soak in an aromatherapy bath.
