Here are the home remedies for heat exhaustion:
1. Get away from sunlight immediately and seek some cool shady place or an air-conditioned spot. Lie down and elevate your feet slightly for better blood circulation. Loosen or remove your clothing as much as possible.
2. Get some cold water to drink but ice water is strictly a no-no. Or you can also have an electrolyte-containing drink (from any medical store) or any sports drink.
If you suffer from heat cramps, then here is what you can do:
1. rest for some time and cool down
2. try to eat salty foods as much as possible and avoid hot drinks or food
3. drink water with a teaspoon of salt per quart
1. stay away from sun especially, during the hottest hours, noon to 4 pm.
2. limit your activity as much as possible like avoid heavy exercising and working in the early morning or evening hours.
3. dress carefully and according to the climate like wear light-colored, light-weight and loose-fitting clothing that lets your skin breathe.
4. drink as much liquid as possible but strictly avoid alcohol and caffeine.
5. avoid hot and heavy meals if you can so that your digestive system does not get affected.
