The blackish bumps or plugs that you normally get to see are, what most of us refer to as blackheads. They are a part of acne and usually appear on the face, chest, back etc. It occurs as commonly as acne but many people are unaware of it as it does not leave behind any permanent effect. Though it is not a very serious problem yet it has the capacity to mar your appearance. So it is important to take proper care in order to prevent your skin from it. Some of the major causes of blackheads are oily skin and environmental pollution. When proper hygiene is not maintained, it tends to get worse. Though it looks different from acne but it is caused by acne.
There are a number of home remedies for blackheads. You can use those items available in your kitchen for the treatment. These ingredients are easily available and are super inexpensive but give a very effective result. Following are some of the effective home remedies for blackheads:
1) Witch hazel is a proven home remedy for blackheads and pimples as well. Using it as an astringent every night will take its own course of getting rid of the acne.
2) Combine one quarter cup of water with Epsom salt and four drops of iodine. Let the mixture cool down a bit. Dip cotton balls when it is still warm and apply it over the area.
3) Make a paste of turmeric powder and juice of fresh coriander leaves and leave it over night. The next morning rinse it with cold water.
4) Make a paste of rose water and oatmeal powder and apply it on the area. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and wash it off with cold water.
5) Radish seeds are also effective for treating blackheads. Make a paste of grounded radish seeds and water and apply it on the area. After about 15 minutes, wash it off with lukewarm water.
Scrubbing is also an essential part for the treatment of blackheads. An old toothbrush serves the best for this purpose. This must be done every other night. But while scrubbing do it very gently. Make sure that no scratch marks are left on your face. A baby toothbrush is the best for this purpose.
