Heat Stroke and Related Problems


Heat Stroke occurs when the natural requirements of our body's temperature get disturbed. Our skin and are the natural control mechanisms of our body and they adjust to the heat under normal conditions. But when exposed to high temperatures for longer periods, then these systems fail to work properly.


Three types of heat-related problems may occur but in the end, all depends on the resistance of the patient and the environmental conditions. Here they are:-


1. Heat Cramps
Another name for heat cramps is the muscle spasms. Vigorous exercising and profuse perspiration are the main causes behind this problem. These factors directly affect your abdominal muscles and ones that you use during exercising.


2. Heat Stroke
It affects mostly the elders and the obese people. Other risk factors of this heatstroke can be listed as dehydration, heart disease, vigorous exercise, certain medications and alcohol use. People who are born with the inability to perspire or sweat are highly prone to this. The main signs of this heatstroke are rapid heartbeat, confusion, rapid and shallow breathing and high or low blood pressure. The prominent sign in the elderly is fainting. The sufferer may stop sweating but this sign is not a reliable one.


3. Heat Exhaustion
How do you come to know if the problem due to heat is heat exhaustion or any other heat-related problem? The answer is through the signs, and the signs are rise in temperature, faintness, low blood pressure, fast heartbeat, cold, clammy skin and nausea. The symptoms are a result of sudden excessive perspiration and inadequate fluid intake.


But what you can do if you suffer from any of the above discussed problem and have nobody near you to get help?


For this, you need to know some home remedies for heat exhaustion and heat cramps to combat such a situation.
