4) Feed your dog with nutritious diet along with proper exercise. If the allergic reaction is caused by food then shift your dog’s diet to simple homemade food which should include brown rice, meat, bone meal etc.
5) The moment you notice your dog scratching, consult your vet at the earliest for an instant check up. For it might lead your dog to develop chronic skin infections.
6) Try to prevent allergens by frequently washing the bedding of your dog and making the atmosphere dust mite free.
7) To rule out the exact cause of scratching, proper diagnosis is required. If your vet suggests, then go for dietary therapy.
8) If the need arises, you can even use acupuncture or homeopathy treatments, that is, when the nutritional therapies fail to give any desired result.
9) If the allergic is due atopic reactions then give your dog a cool bath by shampooing him/her with a medicated shampoo and rinse with aloe Vera or oatmeal to soothe the itchiness.
10) For long term maintenance of your dog’s health, stick to a proper diet and bathe them at regular intervals.
Your dog may take a couple of weeks or months even to get completely cured of allergy. And your vet may be required to try several treatments to determine the perfect type of therapy which would be best suited for your pet.
