Core power yoga is a dynamic and energetic form of yoga, physically and mentally, challenging the practitioner, to connect with an inner power. It is the western form of the Indian Ashtanga yoga. It acknowledges powers at the following levels:

1) gross power: to cultivate physical strength and improve health

2) mind power: to focus on the practice

3) Spiritual power: the power beyond body and mind

This form of yoga aims at healing, detoxifying and rousing the mind and body, through balance and intention. It focuses on strong abdominals and back, includes both Prana and Vinyasa power yoga which focuses on the abs, and Alternative muscle toning moves.

The name, core power yoga, was coined by Beryl Bender Birch, an Ashtanga Yoga instructor, a follower of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, an acclaimed Sanskrit scholar who inspired Western Yogis with his Ashtanga Yoga Style and philosophies.

Like Bikram yoga, this form of yoga is also practiced in a heated room and comprises of different cardiovascular exercises, aimed at developing strength and suppleness. It also increases endurance, improves the ability to concentrate, releases stress and tensions and helps you to get rid of toxins through sweating.

The workouts focuses on the core abdominal muscles, lower back and butt that result in the involvement of the other parts of the body as well. However, the levels of the exercise are quite difficult and those who are not very flexible or lack strength, may not be able to practice it. The series would be beneficial for those who want to develop their core but may not be comfortable or appropriate for everyone.

How is it different from other types of yoga?

1) Core power yoga offers different yoga classes such as Hot Yoga, Yoga Sculpt, Bootcamps, Teacher Trainings and Mat Pilates.

2) It provides superior instructors who personally involve in the students progress and pay more notice to the students` needs.

3) The teachers of this exercise work with the students to personalize their programs and create a sense of belongingness and community

4) It provides quality facilities equipped with top amenities and a balanced aura.

5) It lengthens and stretches the muscles and at the same time builds endurance, strength and lean muscle tissue.

6) It increases body temperature, killing off some bacteria in the process and creates a finely tuned state of consciousness of the workings of the body.

Thus, core power yoga is a challenging program that blends strength, perspiration and spirituality. It focuses on the coordination of the breathing movement, connecting the body, mind and spirit to the highest level and is best suited to those who desire to improve their performance in their chosen sports such as cycling, football, swimming, skiing, surfing, running/athletics, martial arts and other team sports. It helps you in reshaping your mind and body.
