Causes of Vaginal Bleeding
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding usually occur due to a number of reasons such as :
During adoloscence :
1. Anovulatory cycle- when you have a regular menstrual cycle but one of your ovaries fail to produce an egg.
2. Even if you do not produce an egg, your uterus keeps on stimulating from the hormone named estrogen. And your growing egg does not produces another hormone, progesterone thereby causing abnormal vaginal bleeding. Your uterus keeps on growing rapidly reaching a thicker and larger size.
3. During ovulation or the release of an egg from your ovary
4. Uterine lining sheds irregularly thereby causing abnormal vaginal bleeding without causing any sort of pain and discomfort
During pregnancy :
1. ectopic pregnancy- In this type of pregnancy, the fertilized egg is released from the ovary but does not reach the uterus (womb). The fertilized egg implants itself outside the uterus in the abdomen. And like this, the egg does not develop into a foetus at all.
Sometimes, the ectopic pregnancy occurs in a single fallopin tube (called tubal pregnancy). These fallopin tubes transport the egg from the ovary to the uterus.
the foetus starts growing in the fallopin tubes only, and as the size increases, the fallopin tube swells resulting into a big rupture. And with this rupture, the woman has to face heavy vaginal bleeding.
2. miscarriage- the pregnancy that ends before the foetus is capable enough to survive is called miscarriage or an spontaneous abortion. In pregnancy, every other vaginal bleeding other than spotting is considered as threatening miscarriage. It occurs within the first trimester or first three months of pregnancy.
3. anovulation- when you have a regular menstrual cycle but one of your ovaries fail to produce an egg.
Approaching menopause :
Women also experience an dysfunctional bleeding when they are approaching menopause. And if your ovaries do not release an egg during ovulation, then it means that there a fewer eggs left in your ovaries for release. Or maybe, your ovaries are not capable enough to bring the eggs to maturity.
