A number of people suffer from acne. About 70% of the population in America suffers from this skin disease. Acne can occur anywhere on the body and depending on the area where it appears the causes may also differ. For instance, the causes of pimples on the tongue are mainly due to food allergy. Other causes could be hereditary problem such as Keratosis pilaris, hormonal shifts and even vitamin D deficiency. Hormonal shifts occur most commonly among pregnant women which lead to the occurrence of pimples. Keratosis pilaris is not harmful and responds to the treatment through exfoliation and moisturizing. As far as the Vitamin D deficiency is concerned, you can take vitamin D supplements along with your daily diet or expose to sunlight for few minutes. However, tanning skin is unhealthy so it is best to avoid over exposure to sunlight.
As far as the treatment is concerned, there are a couple of ways that can be adopted to get rid of this skin disorder. The easiest way is to scrub your body with a loofah and apply a generous amount of moisturizer on that area. Exfoliating the pimple prone area will also be helpful in getting rid of it as it is formed by dead cells. You can also try using a stronger lotion than you normally use. For the treatment to take effect, you need perseverance and continue what you have been doing to get rid of pimples. It will take atleast 15 days to show its effectiveness on the pimples.
